Treatment Approach

I take a trauma-focused and attachment-based approach to therapy. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is my primary therapeutic approach. EFT is rooted in attachment science and focuses on understanding and transforming emotional responses that shape how people connect with others and themselves. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Adlerian Therapy, Brainspotting, and experiential approaches such as sand tray and expressive arts. I value a collaborative process in therapy and tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client.

More About Me

I grew up on a farm in northern Idaho. I enjoy spending time in nature, hiking, camping, and photography. I have been in the Boise area for 10 years. Prior to becoming a counselor, I was a middle school math teacher and stay-at-home mom to my three children.

In 2020, I went back to school to become a counselor after having learned through personal experience how powerful therapy it can be. I wanted to give to others what had been given to me. I am not afraid to admit that I know what it’s like to struggle. I have been through some very difficult times in my life. I am also not afraid to admit that I know what it’s like to overcome. I would love to be a part of your healing journey. Reach out to get started today.
